Aritra Kshettry

PhD, Centre for Wildlife Studies

Lead: elephant Conservation, WWF-India

I am a conservation ecologist by training and my work involves developing inclusive models where conservation of wildlife is made compatible with safety and food security of local communities. My  approach to fostering safer shared spaces between people and large wildlife, especially elephants, focusses on evidence-based and transdisciplinary methods.  My research and conservation interventions are focused on minimising damages caused by elephants, preventing human casualties due to accidental encounters with elephants, and ensuring free movement to elephants in fragmented habitats.
